Abstract:

Abstract:

In this paper, a novel risk-based, two-objective (technical and economical) optimal reactive power dispatch method in a wind-INTEGRATED power system is proposed which is more consistent with operational criteria.  The technical objective includes the minimization of the new voltage instability risk index. The economical objective includes cost minimization of reactive power generation and active power loss. The proposed voltage instability risk employs a hybrid possibilistic (Delphi-Fuzzy)-probabilistic approach that takes into consideration the operator’s experience, the wind speed and demand forecast uncertainties when quantifying the risk index. The decision variables are the reactive power resources of the system. To solve the problem, the modified multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm with sine and cosine acceleration coefficients is utilized. The method is implemented on the modified IEEE 30-bus system. The proposed method is compared with those in the previously published literature, and the results confirm that the proposed risk index is better at estimating the voltage instability risk of the system, especially in cases with severe impact and low probability. In addition, according to the simulation results compared to typical security-based planning, the proposed risk-based planning may increase the security and economy of the system due to better utilization of system resources.

Abstract:

Context: Cellular metabolism is a set of controlled biochemical reactions known as metabolic pathways that occur in living organisms in order to sustain life. Cells may use different metabolic pathways and alter metabolism to use more effective processes for survival depending on cellular conditions. Alterations in metabolic pathways can lead to the transformation of normal cells into cancerous cells, leading to cancer initiation and development. Objectives: Proper cellular conditions in terms of pH and the availability of essential nutrients and oxygen are important for the healthy functioning of aerobically respiring human cells. If cells are exposed to stressors such as carcinogens that can induce mutations in the genes involved in metabolic pathways, anaerobic metabolism may be used by cells, turning them into cancerous cells. Cellular conditions that maintain aerobic cellular respiration and mitigate the effects of cellular stressors can improve cells’ resistance to neoplastic transformation. Methods: This paper explores the key metabolic pathways used by cancer cells as a function of their environmental conditions based on the Warburg effect. In addition, some analyses and studies were conducted on global and regional cancer incidence rates, taking into account changes in lifestyle and dietary patterns. Results and Conclusions: Natural resistance to cancer may be improved when cells grow in healthy conditions at molecular levels, requiring a balanced alkalizing diet and healthy lifestyle, as well as reduced exposure to environmental carcinogens, which are key control factors. In particular, effective nutritional interventions can help normal cells resist metabolic changes underlying cancer development.

Abstract:

According to the technical specifications of the future generations of telecommunication (the fifth generation and later), which should provide new services with very high data rates in the minimum time and a wide coverage, as well as the exponential increase in traffic, the use of combined space-air networks Land is essential. It should be noted that the management of this type of combined networks has major challenges in providing such services. Meanwhile, the intelligent management of resources in satellite-based hybrid networks will lead to increased capacity and improved service quality. For this purpose, in this article, a comprehensive review of the use of artificial intelligence in the field of satellite communications will be discussed. In the field of intelligent increase of capacity, various factors such as how to configure the network, how to allocate resources such as spectrum, energy and power will be investigated with consideration of intelligent interference management. Finally, in the field of service quality improvement, factors such as how to model and intelligently predict traffic, as well as how to deal with harmful environmental conditions, will be presented.

Abstract:

Introduction: Hip fractures in patients are often accompanied by mortality and considerable complications. Accordingly, the aim of this study has dealt with a systematic review of mortality predictors following hip fracture. Methods: The study collected and examined all systematic review and meta-analysis studies published in English between 2000 and 2023, obtained from international databases such as the Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Web of Science. The search strategy involved using MeSH terms matching the keywords (predictor AND mortality AND hip fractures AND systematic review). The inclusion criteria were systematic and meta-analysis studies, while the exclusion criteria consisted of observational studies, letters to the editor, conference abstracts, commentaries, and case series. Results: In the studies that were examined, risk factors, body organs, and certain diseases were found to have a significant correlation with mortality. On the other hand, depression and low serum albumin had no significant association with mortality. In the examined studies, the relationship between other post hip fracture mortality predictors had not been reported. Conclusion: It is crucial to focus on the most significant predictors of mortality following hip fractures in this study. This knowledge can potentially contribute to a reduction in post-hip-fracture mortality rates, and it underscores the importance of long-term collaboration among experienced multidisciplinary medical professionals and specialized healthcare providers to improve survival outcomes after hip fracture.

Abstract:

Background: The aim of this review was to compare the efficacy of acupuncture therapy in the treatment of nocturnal enuresis with placebo acupuncture or oral pharmacological treatment based on randomized controlled trials. Materials and Methods: Two independent researchers screened the meta-analysis articles on the effect of treatment nocturnal enuresis in children. The databases included Scopus, EMBASE, Cochrane, Web of Science, and Medline, with no time and language restrictions from the beginning up to March 10, 2020. Results: The first meta-analysis showed that therapy with the combination of desmopressin and anticholinergics (combination therapy) was significantly better than desmopressin monotherapy. The second meta-analysis showed that structured withdrawal from desmopressin treatment compared with the abrupt withdrawal results in a significantly better relapse-free rate (pooled RR: 1. 38; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1. 17– 1. 63; P=0. 0001). The third meta-analysis reported a 31% rate of successful treatment for rapid palatal expansion, which is promising compared to the spontaneous cure rate. In the fourth meta-analysis, the pooled data showed a significant difference between acupuncture and meclofenoxate therapy (OR=2. 81). No significant difference was observed between acupuncture, desmopressin (OR = 1. 57), imipramine hydrochloride (OR = 1. 71), and oxybutynin (OR = 3. 57). In the fifth meta-analysis, a statistically significant difference was observed between the frequency of enuresis per week (P < 0. 001), the number of patients with clinical response (P <0. 001), and bladder capacity (P < 0. 001) in the electrical stimulation (ES) group compared with the placebo group. Conclusion: Therapy with the combination of desmopressin and anticholinergics (combination therapy) produced significantly better results than desmopressin monotherapy. The findings showed the positive effects of acupuncture therapy and rapid palatal expansion on nocturnal enuresis in children.
